Dubai's Underwater Hotel
Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10:37PM Despite the tanking of its economy in late 2008, Dubai's tourism industry is still booming, and the latest addition to the emirates array of luxury properties is rumored to be the Water Discus Hotel - a disc shaped property with the bottom half completely submerged beneath the Arabian Gulf.

With just 21 rooms, guests will have views of coral reefs that can be explored through the property's onsite dive center.
The UAE's track record isn't good when it comes to building: the current world's tallest tower - The Burj - will soon lose its crown, and The World island chain built offshore to host luxury properties - is slowly sinking.
Conceived by Deep Ocean Technology, a manufacturer of ocean going undersea vessels, the Discus hotel comes after two previous properties that were designed but never built.
