the hot list: conde nast

maldivians.jpgsummer heat starts early with the release of conde nast's annual hot list, this year fesdu island in the maldives gets white hot status, with guests delivered to their suites by a candy red seaplane from maldivian air taxi perhaps the worlds sexiest entry.

and its always about the entry.

villa8.jpgOther hot list toppers include the Cocker, in Buenos Aires, and Villa Kennedy, in Frankfurt. nyc was represented by the gramercy park hotel, built in 1925 and where guests can get private keys to access gramercy park nearby…..

As the 20th issue of the annual hot list, the rates, amenities and service of the top 100 are way beyond those in 1987, where properties that made the list would have been left in the dust in 2007.

It just shows how the industry has developed, in just two decades. Now, properties with private butlers, private plunge pools, private wine cellars and private entrances are not the specialty bu the norm, even in places like china and namibia……

Where will the hot list be in twenty more years? And where will the amenities be in 2027?

Only time will tell.
