SandwichesShouldNeverTasteLikeCowCrap.jpegSandwiches Should NEVER Taste Like Cow Crap by Dave Lowe (published by Manta Press in 2008) is a tasty stew of stories from life on the Lowe Road.

Starting with strip searches at foreign customs, run-ins with tatami dragon ladies, rides aboard horny camels, shots fired by AK-47's, wheels breaking off taxis and more than a flightmare or two - Dave's travelogue poses a question: Are his size 13 shoes spreading mayhem and chaos with each step?

Only the Travel Gods know for sure.....

Dave Lowe's blog, The Lowe Road covers what's happening in travel, from zero to seven to star, hovels to hotels, donkeycarts to airlines and anything else useful that may come in handy for that future luxury resort vacation in North Korea.

JAN MORRIS

Writing from a myriad of places around the world, Jan Morris has a fantastic eye for detail and adds deep historical angles for her eclectic list of stories. Though Morris has written several books, my all time favourite is Journeys.

In this book, Jan Morris explores the great cities of the world, including Shanghai, and among her adventures (locking her keys in a car in Texas was one such episode) she continues on with the same curiosity and relaxed spirit that you just don't want the book to end.

She meets a varied and colorful assortment of characters along the way its hard to read how Morris completes the book with the curt admission of her sense of accomplishment - of having seen all the worlds great metropolises.

And that’s where she leaves you.

Perhaps the best part of reading Journeys is this ending.....
